First of all, I know you're wondering: Where are those pictures Shelley promised? Well, they have yet to be taken. Isn't that terrible! Samuel keeps reminding me to take them, but I keep putting it off "We'll do that after dinner. We'll do it in the morning." But I promise, they will come... Eventually!
For now, you get more ramblings from me.
1. I had another smell association that hit me hard yesterday. I use cold cream to take off my mascara at night. I've been using the same tub of cold cream for about 10 years (it doesn't take much). I ran out so went to walmart yesterday to buy some more. I bought Pond's because it's all I could find. I got home and opened it and all of a sudden, I was in my Grandmother's bathroom with my great-grandmother (Bada to most). The bottle of Pond's was my Grandma Aycock! It was so weird!! If you haven't read the comments on my last post, Dad's smell memory is hysterical and worth linking to. What are yours?
2. I talked to my Mom today. She told me that she fixed the recipe I posted the other day and that Dad really liked it. Here's where it gets funny and the following comments will explain a lot about my Mom and about how I learned to cook. She said, "Well, I didn't have any fish, so I just used some chicken I had in the freezer. And I didn't have any pecans, so I blended up some of the party nuts your Dad eats all the time. And I didn't have any Greek Seasoning so I just used some spices I had. But your Dad loved it!" (Everyone who's ever eaten dinner at my house, at this moment is saying, "Aahhhaaaa!") So, actually, she didn't make the recipe I posted, she made "Party Nut Encrusted Chicken". Sounds yummy! I love you Mom!! And I'm glad Dad liked it so much.
3. I did something today I've never done. I ran two miles -- without stopping, in 23 minutes. Now those of you who run often are thinking, "23 minutes, why that's practically walking." But remember the most important part of the previous statement. I have NEVER done it before in MY ENTIRE LIFE. Accolades, anyone?
4. I'm thinking that on a future post (near future, hopefully, but after the pictures of course) I'm going to talk about our church. Some of you have been there with us, but some of you haven't, and it's a really neat place so I want to talk about it. So, stay tuned.
I'm keeping it short today! Hope you have a blessed day!

I'm racking my brain trying to think of a smell memory, but I've decided that living in one of the most polluted cities in the world for 12 years has officially made me immune to smells. Summer notices it all the time when I can't smell gas from the oven or something stinky outside. My smeller is all out of whack. Maybe I need a nose transplant. : )
I love the 'Party Nut Encrusted Chicken' story. Reminds me of Chicken Surprise, which we had at least once or twice a month growing up, which generally consisted of whatever leftovers we had all thrown together with chicken. I love you, mom!!!

Accolades!!!!!
I ran 2 miles one time and I think I was slower, so we'll call it crawling. I need to get back into it. Were you at the gym or outside? JB
Shelley:
I love your blog and the comments. I of course agree with you about C.S. Lewis - amazing.
Can't come up with any smell memories but will let you know as soon as I do!!
love you

TWO MILES!?!?!?!?! Wow!!!! Almost a tenth of a marathon - all in one gulp. 10K (in feet). I'm impressed. Astounded. Over joyed. The proud father. You go girl!! Two today, hot tamale - or something like that.
By the way, it was delicious. Probably better than the unMarilynized version. Marilynization always makes any receipe better. Or would that be the Mommyfied version?
