Random Thoughts

- The automatic sliding door on a minivan is one of the greatest inventions. It is especially handy when you are dropping off a van load of kids at school. Just pull up, push the button and out pop the kids. As opposed to the poor shmuck in front of me who had to get out of his van in the cold weather, run around to the other side of his van and open the door for his kid. :)

- Feel free to make fun of me for driving a minivan around this very college town. It's usually not a big deal, until I have to go to Northgate. Talk about feeling old and out of place.

- Speaking of old, I got to spend some time with a college student this week who grew up as an MK in St. Petersburg, Russia. It was good to talk to her and I think it helped her to know someone else who has been through the transition. Did I mention she was born in 1987!!! Yes, I was a junior in HS. Ugh!

-David & I are going to the Junior League Ball tomorrow. This will be the first time since our wedding, nearly 13 years ago, that I will see David in a tux! I'll post pics later.

- Tuesday was my mother-in-law's birthday. We are having a "party" tonight. Kristi is coming in from Austin and I am cooking dinner. Happy Birthday Ann! You are the exception to all the "mother-in-law" stories. I love you!!!

- Speaking of birthdays, tomorrow is Jessica's!! Happy Birthday Jessica! I promise your card is in the mail. :) You know we love you and are honored to have you in our lives!

- Today Samuel took his Rock Collection to school for the Carnival of Collections. Everyone with a collection sets them up in the cafeteria and then the classes take turns coming to look at them. He had several to choose from: rocks, leaves, sticks, flowers or what was the other one, oh yea, stamps (his only legitimate collection since he has stamps from all over the world). He chose rocks b/c he has collected 68 rocks from our neighborhood. :) Oh well, he's excited!!!

- Here are some really cute pics of Jeremiah! He is getting so big and talking constantly, just like his brother. He will be 3 in March! Can you believe it? Me either. Enjoy!

So cute!!! I can't wait to see you all in just a few more days. I hope you don't get sick of me after a whole week there.
