All Dressed Up

This is the time of year where things of note actually start happening. Which interprets into posts that tell about several different events at once.

We'll start with last Saturday: Junior League Charity Ball

This was the first formal event David & I have been to since our wedding. Literally, it's been two months shy of 13 years since I've seen this gorgeous man in a tux. It was worth the wait! Because he looked good. :)

My sweet friend Lieu spent the afternoon at my house doing my hair and make-up. Thank you Lieu! It was so fun! David complained about the estrogen flowing in our house that afternoon. I told him I didn't feel sorry for him at all. I live in a house full of boys -- it's about time a little estrogen flowed around here. :)

The Ball was fun! We sat at a table with two other couples from David's work. These 3 couples tend to find ourselves at these kinds of events often (we were at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet together just two weeks ago). They are fun and easy to be with. I'm waiting for a pic of all 6 of us from a friend. I'll post when I get it.

Sunday night was Jeremiah's school program. The entire Mother's Day Out got on stage and sang about 5 or 6 songs. Jeremiah was very cute! The pics didn't turn out very well b/c the lighting in there is weird! But he sang and waved to us the whole time. He is getting so big!!!

Tuesday morning was Grandparent's Day at Samuel's school. The 1st graders all got on stage and sang about 10 songs (mostly patriotic in nature). Man I have talented, beautiful, incredible kids! I am so proud of both of them!!! (again, no pics -- Ann Park has them -- when I get them, I'll post)

Last night our sweet friend Kimie came over and babysat the boys. David and I went on a real, bonafide, actual date. Not an event associated with work, but a real date. I'm talking dinner and a movie!! It was awesome! And the movie was good too. We saw Casino Royale. We both HIGHLY recommend it. If you get a chance, you should see this movie. They have completely reset the whole James Bond movie genre -- no more hokey, cheesey stuff, but real entertainment. Complex characters, complex story lines, very enjoyable! even for a shoot 'em up movie.

Today David smoked a turkey in his smoker. It looks and smells really yummy!! He was pretty proud of himself. We'll reheat it tomorrow morning to take to Jerry & Ann's house for Thanksgiving lunch.

These guys are all such good friends. I'm not sure what we would do without these dear friends living next door. It's fun watching them all grow up together. I had them sit in age order, left to right, Jacob, Samuel, Lucas, Aaron & Jeremiah. Not pictured, Andrew who is 11 months old. :)

I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday! To get you started, here's Samuel's Thankful List (he did this completely unprompted -- yes I have the greatest kids ever!):
family, friends, rockets, house, rock collection, world, God, Jesus, toys, books, people, food, school.
