Church Camp

We go to a pretty small church called Community Church. To read more about it, check this post. One of the more recent traditions ComChurch has adopted is Church Camp (it's called a tradition because we have now done it twice, the official Aggie definition of a tradition). This is a weekend when the whole church (or at least everyone that's free) goes to a campground about an hour from B/CS. The camp is beautiful, with lots of neat things to do, but the best part is getting to be with the people God has put in our lives right now. People we are walking this journey called "life" with together. We had nearly 100 people there last weekend. Married people, single people, couples with kids, college students, you name it. And we basically just hung out together. We played games, we went swimming, we went rockwall climbing, we jumped off 50 ft. towers together, we had a talent show, and we were church. It was fun!! Despite the 100+ temperatures, it was fun!

Here are pics of Samuel & David on the zip line. Samuel did this twice last year and has been talking about it for a year. He's worked really hard to convince David to overcome his fear of heights to do this with him. As they were on the landing just below waiting their turn, Samuel prayed for David. When they sat on the edge, David looked over and said, "Samuel, are you ready?" At which Samuel jumped off, leaving David to "keep up" with his 6 year old son. I got to go next -- Samuel prayed for me to and the same spot. "God, help Mommy not panic." Very sweet!

Hope y'all have a blessed weekend. Enjoy the pics.

Is there a way you can get in the harness so that you dive off the platform? I think that would be fun!!

That looks like a blast. In the heat though, maybe zip line through a sprinkler? :) Great pics. Love you.

Way to go, David! Gotta love it when a 6 year old shows you up, right? : ) I think they should do a combination of the Superman pose with the sprinkler. You wouldn't be able to get me off that thing!!!
